Does this sound like you?

Neuropathy shows up a little differently for everyone

If you’re dealing with any of these, you’re in the right place.

  • Burning, stabbing, or electric-shock pain in your feet or hands
  • Pins and needles, tingling, or a “buzzing” feeling that won’t go away
  • Numbness, like you’re walking on cotton, sand, or pebbles
  • Feet that feel ice-cold, or hot and burning, especially at night
  • Pain that keeps you up or wakes you from sleep
  • Cramping, aching, or weakness in your feet, legs, or hands
  • Trouble with balance, or feeling unsteady on stairs and uneven ground
  • Sensitivity so strong that even bedsheets or socks hurt
  • Dropping things, or trouble with buttons, jars, and keys

Maybe you’ve tried the medications — the ones that left you foggy, tired, or not quite yourself, and still didn’t touch the pain. Maybe you’ve seen specialist after specialist, sat through the tests, and walked out with the same answer: “There’s nothing more we can do.” Or “It’s just part of getting older.” Or the one that really stings: “It’s only going to get worse from here.”

And maybe, little by little, you’ve started giving things up. The evening walks. Standing in the kitchen long enough to cook a real meal. Feeling the grass under your bare feet. A full night’s sleep without your feet waking you up. Maybe you watch every step now, afraid of the fall you know could be coming — and the people who love you don’t fully understand, because from the outside, you look fine.

That’s a lonely place to be. Living with pain is hard enough. Being told to just accept it is worse. We hear these stories every day, from people who were sure they’d already tried everything. Now they’re sleeping better, walking farther, and feeling their feet again.

Your story doesn’t have to end with “learn to live with it.”

What’s actually happening to you

Your nerves are the wiring — and they can recover

Your peripheral nerves run from your spine out to your hands and feet, carrying messages: “step here,” “that’s hot,” “you’re on uneven ground.” With neuropathy, those nerves are damaged or starved of what they need.

The most common reason is poor circulation — the tiny blood vessels that feed your nerves narrow or stop delivering enough oxygen and nutrients, and the nerves start to misfire. Common causes include diabetes, chemotherapy, past injuries or back problems, vitamin deficiencies, alcohol use, autoimmune conditions, and sometimes no clear cause at all.

Here’s the hopeful part: nerves can recover when they get the blood flow and support they need. Treatment works on exactly that — waking circulation back up, calming overactive pain signals, and helping your nerves heal themselves.

Our approach

No two cases are the same — so no two plans are either

Your plan is built around the severity of your neuropathy, how long you’ve been suffering, any underlying health issues, and what you want to get back to doing.

1

Consultation

You sit down with Chad and walk through your history — when symptoms started, what you’ve already tried, and what daily life looks like now. We’ll ask what you’re hoping to get back to, like dancing at your son’s wedding or walking every step of a big vacation. This is a conversation, not a form.

2

Neuropathy screening

A hands-on evaluation to determine how advanced the nerve damage is and which nerves are involved. This tells us whether we’re looking at an early-stage case or something more progressed — the foundation everything else is built on.

3

Personalized treatment plan

Based on your screening, how long you’ve had symptoms, and any underlying health issues, Chad builds a plan specific to your case. You’ll know how many visits we recommend and what we expect to change along the way.

4

Ongoing support

Progress is tracked visit to visit, and your screening is repeated during care so you can see changes in numbers, not just feel them. Your plan is adjusted as your nerves respond — you’re never left guessing, or going through it alone.

Every plan starts with a full evaluation. No one is placed into a generic protocol.

Meet Chad Moyer, L.Ac.

Licensed Acupuncturist · People’s Choice Acupuncture

For more than two decades, Chad has dedicated his career to the patients other providers weren’t sure how to help — peripheral neuropathy, failed back surgeries, and the complex, stubborn conditions that leave people bouncing from specialist to specialist with no real answers. Those aren’t the cases he works around. They’re the cases he built his practice on.

His path started in 2002 at the Tai Hsuan Foundation College of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in Honolulu. Since then, he’s never stopped learning, and he continues to bring the latest advances and technology in neuropathy care to his patients.

But ask his patients what makes Chad different, and they won’t start with his training or new tech. They’ll tell you he listens. He’s patient, compassionate, and genuinely invested in the people he treats — from your very first visit, you’re a person to him, not a chart. That same care runs through his entire team. Helping people with neuropathy isn’t just their specialty; it’s their passion.

“He cares deeply about each and every patient in his busy office — and so do all of his staff. I feel lucky to be able to be treated by such a wonderful team.” — Google Review

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What types of neuropathy do you treat?

Chad Moyer treats peripheral neuropathy from many causes, including diabetes, chemotherapy, past injuries, back problems, and failed back surgeries. He also treats neuropathy with no known cause, called idiopathic neuropathy.

Does acupuncture for neuropathy hurt?

Most patients feel very little. Acupuncture needles are hair-thin — much finer than the needles used for shots or blood draws — and many people find their sessions deeply relaxing. If your feet are very sensitive, Chad adjusts your treatment to keep you comfortable.

I’ve had neuropathy for years. Is it too late to get help?

Not necessarily. Many patients at People’s Choice Acupuncture come in after years of living with neuropathy and trying medications that didn’t help. Long-standing cases may take longer to respond. Your screening shows how advanced your nerve damage is, so you get an honest answer about what’s realistic.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on how severe your neuropathy is, how long you’ve had symptoms, and any underlying health issues. After your screening, Chad recommends a specific number of visits, so you know what to expect before you commit.

How soon will I notice a difference?

Every patient responds at their own pace. Many first notice better sleep and less burning at night. Your neuropathy screening is repeated during care, so you can see measurable progress, not just feel it.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit includes a one-on-one consultation with Chad and a hands-on neuropathy screening. The consultation covers your history, symptoms, and goals; the screening checks sensation, balance, and nerve function. You’ll leave knowing what’s happening with your nerves and whether treatment is likely to help.

Can I keep taking my neuropathy medications?

Yes. Acupuncture can be used alongside your current care. Please continue any medications prescribed by your doctor, and talk with them before making any changes.

What else does People’s Choice Acupuncture treat?

Besides neuropathy, Chad Moyer treats chronic and hard-to-treat conditions, including lower back pain, failed back surgery syndrome, and knee pain. See what we treat ›
